Bandurria

Since the fifteenth century, the bandurria is a symbol of joy and festivities in all of musical Spain. Related to the lute as well as the mandolin, this peculiar instrument is generally used for its rhythmic qualities, though some players have been known to play it with a stunning virtuoso fingerpicking style.

Attack is a major element of its specific tone as a band instrument which needs to be clearly heard in the traditional spanish folk groups (” tunas “).

To attain that clear and well-defined presence that has made its success, Philippe Bosset proposes specific sets of high quality strings with handmade loops.

With their hexagonal steel core and Silver (20 g) plated copper winding, these strings project a powerful and vibrant sound perfectly suited to the concert environment, as well as traditional Hispanic celebrations.
