Gurin is the root of my Polish family name. My great-grand-father was a wooden boat maker, my grand-father shared this work with him and also layed parquet floor. My father taught me carpentry and I feel like a fish in the sea when I work with wood and I find myself covered with sawdust…

I began playing guitar when I was 13, and at the same time I had my first experiencies as a luthier without even being aware of it: repairing broken necks, putting a pedal effect into an electric guitar, changing a normal bass to a fretless one, keeping off the paint and finishing it with varnish as natural wood, making a cutaway to a classical guitar, repairing the top of an old guitar, making wooden pick guards…

Anyway I never thought of making a guitar completely by myself until I went to France, to the Django’s Festival in Samois sur Seine and then this passion awoke since I put my two loves together, the wood and the music.
